Our reunions are so fun, but sometimes our newest family members (read: young’uns) tend to get left out of the mix. So, to make sure they’re having as much fun as we reunion veterans are, this year we’re assigning them their own itinerary.
So without further ado, your Family Reunion 2019 Itineraries!
Thursday, July 11
2:00 p.m. – Reunion Kick-off Dinner
Join the family for a Pot-Luck BBQ dinner at Aunt Orpha’s home! Bring your favorite dish and come enjoy fun board games, food, pan dulce, old reunion videos, hot tub, and bocce!
The Kick-off Dinner is open to all family members. Address: 732 Kineo Courtt, Oakley, California .
Friday, July 12

Check in at our beautiful meeting room and pick up registration packets, maps, and cabin assignments.
Drop off Silent Auction items, memoriam photos, and hang out and welcome the other family members as they arrive!
4:30 – Cousin Meet & Compete:
Multi-Court
Pick up a map, when you check-in with your parents, and head over to the multi-court (once you get permission and you’re all moved in).
Hang out with your cool Aunt Tina and get those Vasquez competitive juices flowing!
5:45 p.m.
Introductions and Prayer of Dedication:
Sommer Lodge
After you’re settled in, return to the Sommer Lodge where Pastor Greg will honor us with a prayer of dedication and safety for the 2019 Family Reunion. Afterwards, we’ll do our family introductions.

Capture the Flag: Outdoors
This is the perfect activity to get those Vasquez competitive juices flowing! Capture the Flag is Camp Campbell’s funnest night time game! For both kids and adults, this YMCA lead team-sport, will keep us playing all night long! (Ok, well maybe for just one hour!!)

After Capture the Flag, return to the Sommer Lodge to cool down while watching the 2019 Slide Show Presentation. Feel free to share your favorite family story, or memory, during this time of family love!
But afterwards, it’s GAME ON!! And those of us who are domino-challenged will get to compete on various board games near by. May the best Mooner win! HAHA!
Yep, kids have to watch our Family Slide Show Presentation. But don’t worry! You’ll love it. And you’ll learn a lot about this amazing family!

Could there be a better way to wind down a fun filled day than with a sing-a-long around the campfire?
Yeah! Maybe by adding fire-melted marshmallows, yummy Hershey’s chocolate, and graham crackers to the mix!
Join us around the campfire as Sid Rios leads us in our favorite summer-camp songs, while we simultaneously devour S’Mores. And if you want to make sure we sing your favorite song, be sure to vote, or add your selection to our poll, on the Facebook family reunion page.

Nalgas of Steel: Sommer Lodge
This ain’t your mamma’s Jazzercise class. Get ready to get Tight! Nalgas that is . . . and yeah, the rest of your body too!
Join Mariana Rivera for this highly acclaimed training session, and come prepared with your workout mat, favorite Fabletics outfit, water bottle, and a large towel. ‘Cause you gonna sweat! !

Waking up Saturday morning in the redwoods is sure to be awesome! For those adventuresome ones, make the day even better by exploring those amazing redwoods up close.
Join this fascinating, YMCA led, hike through the Camp trails and learn about the land and nature of the redwoods. The hike is geared to both adults and children alike.

This is a paid activity ($40)
Discover the art of Archery and connect with your inner Legolas! Camp Campbell’s staff will be on hand to instruct us on the basic skills and tricks, and then give us plenty of time to practice.

The Mole Hole
This activity is sure to rev up anyone’s juices! Grab a sled and slide down this crazy 60 foot tunnel! This slide is fun for all ages, and adults are welcomed to join the fun.

Tie-dyed T-Shirts are just the beginning of fun at the Arts & Crafts Pavilion!
If you registered for your Tie-Dyed T-Shirt, please make sure you’re present to create your masterpiece! And if you didn’t register, but would like to, just connect with one of our committee members, and we’ll get you signed up and dyeing in no time. Adults welcomed.

Rock Climbing: Climbing Wall
Just a hop from the Swimming Hole lies another activity for the adventurous in heart! Try your hand at traditional tower climbing on Camp Campbell’s multi-sided climbing tower overlooking the creek!
The wall is great for new climbers, or experienced recreational climbers focused on goal-setting and personal improvement.

Dance Class & Dance Dance: Sommer Lodge
Come on back to the Sommer Lodge and join your instructor, Aleida Nunez, for a fun filled dance class!
She’s going to teach us some moves, and then afterwards you can put your new skills to a test in our family friendly DANCE DANCE!

It’s time to get your game on at our Vasquez-Trivia Family Game Night!
Hone up on your family history and recall all those stories you heard relatives tell, because this Family Game Night is going to be over the top trivia!!! Word to the wise: Study Auntie Becky’s book, “Las Hijas de Don Chon.”
Prepare to run, catch, and even get mashed! MC’d by our resident Game Show Host, Burt Cassidy, this game night is one night we’ll never forget!

It’s time to pack up and check out of your cabins. You may store your belongings in the Sommer Lodge or pack them up in your car. But don’t be late, because shortly after is our most beloved event of the reunion.

Sunday Service: Redwood Chapel
Congregate with your other family members in the awe inspiring Redwood Chapel, and admire the beauty of God’s handiwork in person.
Before we say good-bye to Camp Campbell, Pastor Gregg Sumii will officiate our Sunday Service. We’ll take this time apart to worship God and to meditate on the blessings of the faith-foundations this family has been, and continues to be, built upon.

For those who just can’t bear to say goodbye yet, keep the family fun going and head on over to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk! This way you’re sure to keep that memory making fun for as long you’d like!
